Art Therapy is diverse and is practised with a wide range of people. It includes children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, families….the list goes on. The role of Art Therapy is to help people explore and express themselves authentically through art. Through the art process, people can experience relief from stress and trauma or from confusing or overwhelming emotions. Art Therapy helps people to discover new insights about themselves or their situation. It can increase their sense of well-being and enrich their lives through creative expression. Not only can it add insight but it can also aid in the communication of someone who may find it difficult to express how or what they are experiencing.
