BETH
Beth has been experimenting with art since childhood, a passion caught from her father which developed into a career as a secondary art teacher.
The other passion in Beth's life is people. She has always had the desire to encourage, care for and empower others.
It was during her time as an Art Teacher, that Beth noticed how powerful art can be in communicating and healing, so she has combined her passions becoming a Counsellor complemented with Art Therapy skills.
Beth is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and holds a Certificate of Art Therapy from the College for Educational and Clinical Art Therapy (CECAT) along with a Diploma of Teaching Art. These combined with her experience gained by 15 years teaching and another 10 years in Pastoral Care fully equip her to meet the needs of her clients.
Beth has previously led a local ARAFMI group (Association of Friends and Relatives of the Mentally Ill). With lived experience as a carer, Beth is passionate about Mental Health education, support and self-care.
Beth's colleagues describe this award-winning artist as committed, caring and professional which is who she is rather than what she does. A belief in a holistic approach encompassing the physical, social, emotional and spiritual health/wellbeing of the individual underpins Beth's philosophy for her clients ensuring that all are treated with genuine care and respect.
